Battlefield 3 multiplayer will have 50 real authentic marine ranks (confirmed). The developers have also hinted it will take years to unlock every item in Battlefield 3. That could possibly mean that it takes longer to achieve a rank in Battlefield 3 then in Battlefield:Bad Company 2. There has been no information on how the point system works to gain ranks or how many points you need to gain.
